KS2 children took part in a local handball tournament today and came second in their group. They played brilliantly, having trained for six weeks with Mrs Connor. In the final game, they scored 12:3 against Arkholme Primary. Thanks to Andrew Smith for accompanying the team. Well done to all involved!
Children in Oaks Class have been on their bikes today as part of the council's Bikeability scheme. As a school in the Lune Valley where cycling is a way of life, we support our children in staying safe on the roads. Children began by checking the road worthiness of their bikes before hitting the roads around Caton.
Don't forget to dress up for World Book day on the 1st March. We have signed up to the Lancashire County Council initiative 'We are Reading' and as such, pledge to raise the profile of reading across school. We will be reading favourite books, making story boxes, researching authors and listening to parents and governors tell stories among other activities throughout the day.
School is open today but we have staff absent because of the weather and may have to send staff home early. We will let you know via our texting service and on here if we need to close school earlier than usual today. Please check our Adverse Weather Procedures. A reminder will be sent in letter form tonight.
