Head Teacher Welcome

“Learning, to me, means making more sense of the world around us, and being able to do more things in it.”John Holt

Here at Caton Community Primary School,
we spend seven years devoted to nurturing individual strengths and strengthening essential skills.

We prepare each child for life’s important tests, while supporting and developing the talents of each budding artist, athlete, musician, inventor or explorer!

“Our task is to help children communicate with the world using all their potential, strengths and languages, and to overcome any obstacle presented by our culture”Loris Malaguzzi

We are a small school with one huge strength: we recognise the potential at the heart of each child, which is why we put each child at the heart of our teaching.

With strong parent partnerships, supportive, caring, knowledgeable staff and a developmentally appropriate curriculum, we believe that every acorn can grow into a mighty oak.

Mighty Oaks: The 8 Branches

As practitioners, we ensure that our school is a place where children can grow to be the best that they can be.

We provide a developmentally appropriate education that will take children confidently into the secondary phase of their education and beyond, as lifelong learners.

With this in mind, we teach our children to recognise and use a set of characteristics and their corresponding attitudes, skills and dispositions  during their learning opportunities.

These characteristics apply to all children no matter what their age or ability and are chosen to be built upon year on year to enhance learning.
